What will be our Legacy?  This will be a Christian Guide to understanding the various ways that we can pass on our earthly treasure to fund ministry and mission at our church.  We all know how to place our check in the “offering plate”.  What are some of the other ways we can provide our Church with the necessary funds to grow its program and mission?

What is the best way to gift stocks, bonds, and mutual funds to our church?  How can we maximize our gifts to provide more?  How does an annuity work that can benefit me while I live and then eventually provide funds for my church?  What is an endowment?  What is a Trust?  What is a Christian Preamble in a will?  We will explore some of the various and creative ways to give and try to make the technical easy to understand.

Bring your questions!  We will be discussing various ways that we can provide funding to the Church both now and for the future.

Come on out Sunday May 20th and learn the various other ways that we can give to the Church.

About the Mid-Atlantic United Methodist Foundation

The past four years has been a time of dramatic change in both the economy and the World. This has created the need for all of us to reflect on the lessons of the past, and seek new and meaningful pathways forward in stewardship and funding The United Methodist Church’s Christian Ministry and Mission.

One great success story about adaptability and growth during difficult times has been the Mid-Atlantic United Methodist Foundation. The Foundation continues to establish growth as measured by increases in both Methodist Churches it serves and growth of new assets. For example, in July 2010, the Foundation completed a merger with the Baltimore Washington Conference Foundation further expanding its support of the Methodist Church.
