Upcoming Mission Trips

Before Jesus ascended to heaven He left us with this command "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations..." (Matthew 28:19)  Trinity has taken this scripture to heart.  Each year our youth and adults spend hundreds of man-hours serving the Lord.  Missionaries from Trinity go to share the gift of salvation, and to lend helping hands in areas such as construction, remodeling, and teaching the gospel.  They have served in and around the Southern Maryland region, throughout the United States, and around the world. While our goal is to send missionaries around the world to share the saving power of Jesus Christ and to help in areas of needs, they come back with a blessing that cannot be measured in time or money.

Upcoming Mission Trips

Trips are currently being planned for the summer of 2012 for adults, families, youth and young adults. We are planning to return to Russia this summer. If you are interested, please contact Karen VanDuzer ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or Pastor Charles ( This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ). There are also plans to return to RoughSide of the Mountain in the Navajo nation this summer. Check back as more information becomes available.

Youth Projects

Christmas Morning DC Mission Trip

Trinity’s Youth Ministry once again spent Christmas morning in DC visiting with some of the people who call the streets home. We are collecting the items listed below to hand out as Christmas gifts. Thanks for supporting the students in this mission outreach with your donations.

Appalachian Service Project

Trinity sent a team of 14 youth and adults to the south west corner of West Virginia July 19 – 25 to work with ASP to make the homes of Appalachia residents ”warmer, safer, drier.”  ASP is celebrating their 40th year of home repair ministry in one of the poorest regions of our nation.  2009 will be trinity’s first year participating with ASP.

Camp Hope

Trinity enjoys a long standing relationship with this United Methodist home repair ministry based in Frostburg (western MD).  We were excited to send 13 youth and adults to Camp Hope the week of July 29 – August 1 to help those who live in povery make their homes safer and more livable.

Previous Mission Trips

Russia

This past summer Trinity participated in and provided leadership for a VIM (Volunteers in Mission) team to Russia again this year, as part of our continuing supporting relationship with Millennium UMC in the Russian city of Orel.  This multi-church team included time both in Orel and at the UM camp near Voronezh.

New Mexico

This summer, June 19-26, a Trinity VIM (Volunteers In Mission) returned to RoughSide of the Mountain UMC to continue our relationship with the members of this church and community. Trinity UMC's first VIM team went to this location in 2008.  RoughSide of the Mountain is located on the Navajo Nation (Sheep Springs, New Mexico). Community outreach (a youth rally) and some construction projects were involved.West Virginia

West Virginia

A Trinity VIM team traveled to Fayette County, WV June 29-July 5, 2009They worked as assigned by the West Virginia United Methodist Church VIM organizer. Our team was matched with a work site dependent on the skills and experience of our team.
