As law enforcement officers, they are confident and focused, standing up to the worst the streets can offer. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge they’re ill prepared to tackle: fatherhood. When tragedy strikes home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Protecting the streets is second nature to these law enforcement officers. Meet Our Team

Charles Harrell

Lead Pastor

I’m Charles Harrell, Lead Pastor of Trinity Church.  It’s a pleasure for me to welcome you to our virtual home on the web.  We hope you enjoy this opportunity to learn a little bit about our staff team.  They are all devoted and enthusiastic servants of Jesus Christ, and it’s a privilege to serve the Lord with them as well as alongside everyone at Trinity.

A little bit about myself: I was invited to become the pastor of Trinity in July 2007.  Previously I served congregations in Lusby and Rockville, Maryland.  A native of this state, I did my undergraduate work at James Madison University, and attended seminary and graduate school at Duke University.  In 1992, I was ordained an elder in The United Methodist Church.  I am married to Elizabeth and we have two sons, John and Nicholas.

I’m very excited about ministry here.  Trinity is a church with a rich and faithful past, reaching back over 150 years as three congregations which came together with a new name and a new vision in 1955.  But I believe Trinity’s future, yet unwritten, is still more exciting.  We are committed to following where the Lord leads, showing the love of God, and growing disciples, going to serve and witness, and helping people to know the Lord who loves them so much that He went to the cross for them, and to discover God’s purpose and call in each life.

In Revelation 3:8, Christ says to the angel of the Church at Philadelphia: “See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.”   I believe that God has placed before His people in this community also an open door: to introduce people to Jesus, and to lead them in following Him in exciting and life-giving ways.

We invite you to be part of that journey, and to step through that door with us.

Heath Wilson

Assistant Pastor

Greetings in the name of Christ.  I am Heath Wilson and I am the assistant pastor of Trinity Church.

I left Vermont to serve here at Trinity and attend seminary.  I brought with me my wife, Julie and my son, Jeffrey.  I grew up in upstate New York and received my undergraduate from Elmira College and upon graduated moved to Vermont and married my wife.  I have worked for a Fortune 500 problem solving company and also for the Vermont Department of Education.  I left a stable and secure job with the state and wonderful house in Vermont and followed my call into ministry.  In addition, my wife is attending seminary to pursue here call to provide ministry to those in need.

I am excited to bring the Gospel message alive and try to show God's people how it is more vital today than ever to be involved in the body of Christ through being active in the life of the Church.

I look forward to getting to know you and would love to talk with you about life, faith, and the journey.

"But what happens when we live God's way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a
willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.  Legalism is helpless in bringing this about; it only gets in the way. Among those who belong to Christ, everything connected with getting our own way and mindlessly responding to what everyone else calls necessities is killed off for good—crucified." Galatians 5:22-24

We invite you to be part of that journey, and to step through that door with us.

Life is a chance.
Love is infinity.
Grace is reality.

Leah Maloney

Director of Music Ministry

I'm Leah Maloney, Director of Music Ministry.  My husband Patrick and I moved to Calvert County in 1998 with our three daughters, Amanda, Anna and Abigail.  Prior to Trinity, I served as a musician at Oxon Hill Lutheran Church and First Lutheran Church.  My degree from University of Maryland is in music education, and I have taught in both Prince Georges County and Calvert County.  I have been personally
blessed by the deep well of faithful, talented people God has planted here at Trinity.  This community of musicians has an amazing willingness to share their faith, time and talents which makes our
worship experiences rich, varied and meaningful.  We welcome all who feel called to share their gifts to join us in making a joyful noise unto the Lord!

"Serve the Lord with gladness, come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture."
Psalm 100: 2-3

Anita Nalls

Administrative Assistant

My name is Anita Nalls and I was raised in Bladensburg, Maryland.  My husband Jeff and I were married in 1988 and we live in Port Republic, Maryland with our three sons, Jeffrey, Andrew, & John.  Jeff and I became a part of Trinity’s church family in May of 1991. We came to Trinity looking for a church to raise our kids in, but we soon came to find that we too needed a church that we could grow in, and Trinity became that church.  I was hired as a part of Trinity’s staff in January 2006 as administrative assistant. My hope and vision for Trinity is that we become the community center, so to speak - the church where families will want to come not just on Sundays, but to come and be in community and fellowship together, a place to hang out together, to raise our kids together, to be interwoven in each others lives, to be one in the spirit. My husband and I both also have a heart for youth and the importance of our youth knowing that God loves them so much that He gave his only Son for them and that He has a purpose for each of them yesterday, today, and always, not when they turn 40-something. No one ever shared that with us when we were teens.

The Scripture verse that I cling to as I meet each new day:

“For I know the plans I have for you, ‘declares the Lord’,  plans to prosper you not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11
